What we viewed on the video of the police officer kneeling
on the neck of George Floyd is a disgrace, especially when George is heard
complaining he has trouble breathing and this is backed up by those civilians
standing at that location, some of which took videos. It appears from the video officer Chauvin
seems to not give a rat’s ass to what was being said either by the victim or
the civilians, while one officer was standing a few feet away from officer
Chauvin and did nothing to stop what was happening.
Now another video that has surfaced a few days ago appears
to show that George Floyd was not agreeable to being placed in the back of the
police vehicle and was kicking at the officers.
Now the easy solution would be for the officers to tie his legs together
with those plastic ties all departments used and since there were 4 officers
and two police vehicles on the scene, they could have had two officers sit in
the back with Floyd, one on each side to restrict his movement within the
police vehicle. This would then have the
other two officers’ drive the two vehicles back to their police station or
wherever they take arrested people.
This event seems to demonstrate poor training by this
department or a complete disregard of safety procedures when arresting a person
who may not be always cooperative throughout the entire procedure. It appears that George Floyd was cooperating
initially but then suddenly we see him on the ground adjacent to the police
vehicle with officer Chauvin kneeling on his neck. Then the other video shows a scuffle when
George Floyd was originally placed in the rear of the police vehicle.
The entire training provided all officers and supervisors of
this department must be reviewed to ascertain if the training was there but
these 4 officers disregarded their training.
What officer Chauvin did would appear to be an act no police
department in their right mind would ever teach. Now common sense would dictate there may be
times when attempting to arrest an individual there may be a physical conflict
that may come down to either the officer or the person being arrested suffering
severe injury and this may require the assistance of numerous officers to
subdue the individual. Not all officers
are weight lifters and neither are those being arrested, but when a person is
resisting arrest physically, it may take more than one officer to get control
of the situation. Not everyone arrested
will come peacefully and we hear where both officers and those arrested may get
injured as a result.
But we can say with documented certainty that officer
Chauvin did commit a homicide in the death of George Floyd, but what degree is
up to the prosecution to determine. You
do not want to charge someone with a crime that may be too difficult to get a
conviction and lose the case where the person cannot be tried again because of
double jeopardy. The other 3 officers
did commit nonfeasance and possibly malfeasance. There actions or lack thereof led to the
death of George Floyd that could have been prevented just by telling officer
Chauvin to get his knee off the neck of the victim and if officer Chauvin did
not to forcibly remove him off the victim.
But, all this does not justify the riots and looting that we
see taking place across the country.
Peaceful demonstrations would be appropriate in Minneapolis so the death
of George Floyd would not be forgotten and proper prosecution of the officers
involved. Violence in this case is not
justified and never is justified.
Looting and violence is just an excuse by some that take advantage of a
situation where they know they can get away with these crimes at the present
moment. I do not think this is the
memory that George Floyd or his family would want him to be remembered by.
Yes, we can all agree that there are some bad apples in
police departments, but not in the entire profession. We also can agree that in all occupations we
have bad apples, whether is in a fast food restaurant, stocking shelves in a
grocery store, CPA’s, Layers and definitely our elected officials from state to
the federal government. So, we must
allow the prosecution of this case to continue without burning down the
cities. We also know, there are radical
groups behind these violent demonstrations that would like nothing better than
to overthrow our democratic republican and impose their type of government that
would restrict individual rights where government would dictate what you can
and cannot do. Thank you all the schools
and universities that have been teaching this garbage over the past 50
years. It is coming down to power and
control that we see how these radicals have taken control of what began as
peaceful demonstrations and turned them into violence in an attempt to
overthrow our form of government. The
people in France in the 1790’s thought they would have a government similar to
what we established with our Founding, but they found out the hard way, this
was not meant to be. Instead, with the
French revolution, we had beheadings of those in power whether it was political
or financial. The people suffered but
those who took power did not.
Now, President Trump saw this in our country and called it
the swamp where both elected and unelected bureaucrats wanted to gain more
control over government and the people. So
for the past 3 plus years he has been fighting this swamp and the swamp people
do not want to lose their power and control.
So, we had these 3 plus years of endless investigations with the hope
that they can remove this president through impeachment or damage him enough so
he would lose the November election.
These riots are just another way of trying to cause damage to the Trump
administration. The lying news media is
also complicit in this as for nearly 4 years they have been spilling lie upon
lie and hate against Trump and his supporters and no doubt will find some way
to blame Trump for the riots and violence we are seeing today. In Same way, they will twist what is either
being said may have been said many years ago to prove their lies. The lying news media has partially succeeded
in brainwashing some people into believing their lies over the truth.
So, we must all speak out against this violence and stop
it. One way is to identify those
agitators to law enforcement so they can be arrested. Peaceful demonstrations are a foundation of
our constitution, but violence is not MLK met violence when he was
demonstrating, but that did not stop him from accomplishing his dream. Violence was not his mantra and should not be
ours today.
