Congress and the 2010 budget

The Presidents budget with the anticipated deficit of at least $1.5 Trillion is unsustainable especially when by the year 2020 we will see a total deficit of over $20 Trillion. Are we going nuts. This type of spending is what got us into this financial mess in the first place. Our eyes being bigger than our wallets. If cutting spending applies to us, it must also apply to government. If it was possible to spend oneself into prosperity, we would all be borrowing like crazy. We know that is not true and the same applies to the Federal government. We must stop this madness and get our spending under control. Whether we like it or not, Congress must show courage and cut, cut and cut. If this spending continues we will become a 4th world country. Spending is not the way to prosperity. Our parents and grandparents who lived during the depression always told us to be careful on spending and those of us that lived by this rule are not suffering as much as other citizens. We must balance this 2011 budget proposal and make the drastic cuts to achieve this result. The big question is will Congress have to courage to do this or will it be business as usual because Congress is more interested in getting elected and pleasing the electorate and make their decisions accordingly?

Congress must remember, the electorate is being mobilized like never before as indicated in Tea Party events, the elections in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts. We will not stand for this type of no action by our representatives. This madness must stop and it must begin with Congress. Also, Congress must be reminded we are a Republic and not a Democracy. Look it up, there is a difference and that is why our Founding Fathers gave us this form of government.
