Voter ID Laws

Interesting that the democrats and their ilk sympathizers are attacking voter ID laws since this will interfere with getting non-citizens to vote.  But, why do we need ID for anything if we do not have to prove ourselves a citizen to vote.  Some of things you need ID for:

Welfare benefits-Obvious

Registration for purchasing guns-Obvious

Petition your Government-Want to meet with Gov. Official

Right of Assembly-Permit to demonstrate, legally stopped by police, they can ask for ID

Right to Marry-Obvious-Who are you really? Today it is who is the bride and who is the groom?  Even naked does not apply anymore.

Freedom of Movement-TSA wants ID when boarding plane, renting a car etc.

Public Accommodation- Hotel registration-Many local governments require this and many a credit card, vehicle license plate # etc.

I think if we do not need ID to vote, why for the above items.  If you are 10 years old and want to get a drivers license, just say you are 18, sign the form and pass the test.  What is the difference from claiming you are a citizen and go vote?
